ABORTION in the U.S.

Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, abortion laws are now being decided on at a state level.

12 states enforced total bans on abortion with limited or no restrictions.
- Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Idaho
6 states have put 6 to 12 week gestational limitations in place.
- North Carolina, South Carolina, Iowa, Georgia, Florida, Nebraska
4 states have enacted 18 to 23 week gestational limits in place.
- Utah, Kansas, Wisconsin, Ohio
19 states have 24 to 26 weeks gestational limitations, Virginia being one.
- Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Virginia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Missouri, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, California, Washington, Arizona, Hawaii
8 States as well as D.C., have no gestational limits on abortion.
- Vermont, New Jersey, Maryland, Oregon, D.C., Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico

ABORTION in VIRGINIA

Abortion is legal in Virginia up to the start of the third trimester (26 weeks and 6 days)
14,910 babies in Virginia lost their lives to abortion in 2022*
That is a 21% increase from the prior year.
The Virginia Department of Health does not currently include abortions by mail in their statistics.
13% of all pregnancies in Virginia in 2022 ended in abortion.
Jumping to 34% for unplanned pregnancies.

ABORTION on the PENINSULA

In 2022*, there were 7,650 pregnancies on the Virginia Peninsula and Middle Peninsula.
2,907 of those pregnancies were unplanned.
1,497 of those unplanned pregnancies were ended because of abortion.
980 women walked through our doors in the last 12 months seeking help and hope!
